Others present at the meeting were County Clerk Trille Bottom, County Attorney Lynne Dean and Rob Caldwell.
Rob Caldwell, with the Airport Board, discussed the possibility of buying a used runway broom from the Lexington Airport. The used runway broom is 30 feet with a heated cab and the bidding will be online.
Rob Caldwell discussed the $150,000.00 Airport Grant Application. There are two pieces of property at the end of Pleasant Drive that are too close to the airport per federal guidelines. The Federal Government has offered the grant to buy the parcels of land for $111,000.00. The remaining balance of $39,000.00 is a refund for the T-Hangers built last year. Magistrate Sammons made the motion to approve the Court acting as sponsor and authorize the Judge to sign any needed paperwork. Magistrate Hendricks seconded the motion. The motion passed with all members voting in favor.
